Coach Daniel Deplanche began his KMHS soccer coaching career in 2005, as head coach of the Lady Mustangs’ varsity side. After guiding the Lady Mustangs to a 12-4-0 record and a return to the state playoffs for the first time in three years, Coach Deplanche was named head coach of the boys’ side in 2006. In his first season, he lead them to a 13-5-1 record as the region runner-up and a return to the state playoffs where they lost to the eventual state champions in OT.  In 2007 the team went 11-7-1 and again made the state playoffs.  In his eight years of coaching, Coach DePlanche has compiled a varsity record of 89-31-5.

Prior to arriving at KMHS, Coach Deplanche served as the Girls Varsity head coach at Rockdale County High School, compiling a record of 47-10-2. He led the girls team to three consecutive playoff appearances, a Region 8AAAA runner-up spot in 2003 and a Region 8AAAA championship in 2004. The Rockdale Citizen named him Soccer Coach-of-the-Year in 2002 & 2004, and the Georgia Soccer Coaches Association gave him Coach-of-the-Month honors in March 2003, March 2004, and April 2004.

Coach DePlanche graduated from Prattville High School (Alabama) where he played soccer for four years. He played semi-pro soccer in the U.S.I.S.L for the Montgomery Capitals and he continues to play soccer in an adult league.  Coach DePlanche received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Auburn University at Montgomery in 1997 and earned his Master’s Degree in Education from AUM. Since 2000, Coach DePlanche has taught economics and sociology and is currently teaching U.S. history and Psychology. Coach DePlanche, his wife Michelle, and daughter McKenna reside in Dallas.
